This steel is a high-carbon tool steel that contains chromium as well as vanadium. Vanadium provides excellent edge retention because it produces very durable carbides at the molecular level of the cutting edge. Carbon steel blades will rust if not dried properly and wiped after use especially if cutting acidic foods. I personally force a patina on these knives as it looks amazing and is very practical.
handle: Dyed and stabilised Amboyna burl finished with monocrystaline wax
